[dsl-visitors] Tomorrow, Saturday: Playing with cables

Eli Silver will pop over from Shenzhen tomorrow and give a talk about
robotics. Afterwards, we will try to do a setup using his latest
prototype.

What happens when we use our built environment as the structure of a
robot? By attaching winches and pulleys to the walls of a room, Eli
Silver explores just that. This talk will showcase various iterations
of cable-driven robots and delve into the underlying theory and design
principles that underpin their implementation. Additionally, it will
provide an overview of current research in the field of cable-driven
parallel robots, complemented by Eli’s own experiences through visual
arts, interactive experiences, and the development of robotic
companions.
